Company History & Philosophy

Leaders With Vision

Company Chairman William O. Daggett, Jr. began his career at Kistler Tiffany Companies (presently Kistler-Tiffany Advisors) in 1962. In 1973, under his leadership and vision, the company’s group benefits department was formed. In 1999, Kistler Tiffany Benefits began operating as an independent entity.

Today, KTB is committed to remaining an independent, privately-owned company against a landscape of increasing national consolidation and is led by Shawn Orenstein.

As a company, KTB has garnered numerous awards and accolades including:

  • Employee Benefit Adviser ‘Top 50’ large employee benefit firm (December 2014)
  • Philadelphia Business Journal ‘Most Admired CEO’ (December 2014)
  • Philadelphia Business Journal ‘Healthiest Employer’ (2014, 2015)
  • Philadelphia Inquirer Two-time ‘Top Place to Work’ (2012, 2010)

Our agents and employees possess a great wealth of knowledge as it relates to health insurance products, industry trends, and legislation. Many of our agents have worked for carriers including Aetna and Independence Blue Cross and understand the nuances of the industry from both sides.

KTB employees are affiliated with some of the industry’s top membership organizations including the National Association of Healthcare Underwriters (NAHU), Pennsylvania Association of Health Underwriters (PAHU), the Greater Philadelphia Association of Health Underwriters (GPAHU) of which Kistler Tiffany Benefits’ CEO and President were instrumental in growing to the largest chapter in the state of Pennsylvania, the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters (NJAHU), South Jersey Association of Health Underwriters (SJAHU), Monmouth Ocean Association of Health Underwriters (MOAHU), and the Society for Human Resource Management.
