DOL Issues Updated Guidance on FFCRA’s Expanded Paid Sick Leave and Expanded Paid Family and Medical Leave

On March 24, the Department of Labor (DOL) published an updated Q & A addressing a variety of issues pertaining to expanded paid sick leave and expanded paid family and medical leave contained within Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).  Importantly, the DOL clarified that the FFCRA’s paid leave provisions take effect on April 1, 2020 (as opposed to April 2, 2020 which was the date most commenters believed the law’s paid leave provisions took effect per statutory language).
