The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund fee is a fee on health insurers’ policies and plan sponsors of self-insured health plans that helps to fund the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
PCORI fees are due for plan years ending in 2018 by July 31, 2019 (e.g., a January 1, 2018 plan year ended December 31, 2018, a February 1, 2017 plan year ended January 31, 2018, etc.).
Kistler Tiffany Benefits’ Director of Compliance Services, Scott Wham, J.D., gives an overview of the PCORI Fee, including the fee itself, health plans that must pay, special rules for HRAs and FSAs, and the proper completion of IRS Form 720.
