Last week, the Internal Revenue Service released Revenue Procedure Notice 2018-30, establishing the annual contribution limitation for health savings accounts (HSAs) that are paired with qualified high-deductible health plan (HDHP) for calendar year 2019. Next year, the HSA contribution limit for people with self-only HDHP coverage will be $3,500. The family coverage contribution limit will be $7,000.
The minim annual deductible level for qualified HDHP coverage in 2019 will be $1,350 for self-only coverage and $2,700 for family coverage. The maximum annual out-of-pocket expense limit levels, which apply to deductibles, co-payments, and other cost-sharing, but not premiums, were set at $6,750 for self-only coverage and $13,500 for family coverage.
