If you are an applicable large employer and/or sponsor a self-funded (or “level-funded”) small group health plan, mark April 2, 2018 on your calendar! Electronic submission of health coverage information Forms 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C and 1095-C are due to the Internal Revenue Service by that day, so make sure you check in with your employer reporting vendor and verify that your forms were transmitted on time and without any issues. Any employer or issuer who files more than 250 information returns during the calendar year must file their forms with the IRS electronically. Employers and issuers filing fewer forms can voluntarily submit them electronically, and most employer reporting vendors elect this option, so many smaller plans transmit their Forms 1094 and 1095 B & C on this day too.
