EEO-1 Report Due September 30, 2016

EEO-1 Report Due September 30, 2016

If you are a private employer with one hundred (100) or more employees or are an employer that needs to comply with Affirmative Action requirements (Executive Order 11246)*, your company will be required  to file an EEO-1 report annually by September 30th.  This report requests company employment data categorized by race/ethnicity, gender and job category.

The EEO-1 data is utilized by the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to analyze employment patterns with companies, industries and regions and support civil rights enforcement.  The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) uses EEO-1 data to determine which companies may have a high likelihood of systematic discrimination to select for Affirmative Action compliance reviews.

Employment data must be reported based on one pay period in July, August or September of the current survey year.  Employees should be asked to self-identify for race/ethnicity and gender.  For those who refuse to self-identify, an employer may make their best guess based on employment records or visual observation.
