You’ve just extended an offer to a candidate who is a critical addition to staff and you want to ensure the candidate is off to a great start with your company and feels welcomed and part of the team from day one. What do you do? Begin planning as soon as the offer is extended, provide some input as to what the new employee can expect before they begin, and work with the hiring manager to create a successful onboarding program. When employees go through a formal onboarding process, they are 58 percent more likely to remain with the company after three years.
